This vase is an Argentine hardwood called Quabracho, with a design ring of vertical grain zebrawood and veneers. About 12" tall and 5 1/2" at the widest. This is a very dense wood and heavier than most.
Sold
This vase is the same woods as the above but a slightly different design and size.
Sold
This is a wormy burl with a segmented shoulder and rim. It is 8" X 7" and is finished with lacquer.
Sold
Small staved pieces. These 3 pieces are of imported hardwoods and include Black Limba (left) with ebony rim and foot. These are made of 16 staves and have veneer inserted between the staves. The design is the same on the inside as what you see on the outside.
The middle lidded box is Roble (Oak in Spanish) and Quina for the lid. Made the same as the Limba vase. Also includes a hook in the lid for use as a necklace or chain box. This idea came about as the result of my wife leaving a silver chain on the counter and finding a knot in it the next time she chose to wear it. (May not be an original idea but I've never seen another).
The last is also a lidded box with the hook in the lid and is made from Congoyna and Black Walnut. These boxes are about 4" in diameter and the vase is about 6" in diameter.
