This Monkey Puzzle bowl is 15" in diameter X 6" high. The six knots in the wood are a feature of this tree which grows here in the Northwest and is type of pine I believe. It's a fun wood to turn and is easy to work with. This bowl was dyed green around the knots and the whole thing was dyed black and sanded through around the knots to give the effect of peacock feathers. Finished with multiple coats of lacquer.
This dyed and pierced challis is from a Madrone log with the pith still in. About 8" X5".
Fairly plain maple wood so I stained it with walnut stain and then dyed it red. Top coated with lacquer. 10"X5"
